Under the strategic opportunities of the Belt and Road Initiative, China's copper industry should further deepen supply-side structural reforms and optimize and upgrade its industrial layout.

Australia may usher in a copper mining boom
Citigroup Australia analysts released a report earlier this week predicting that copper prices could surge to US\$8,000 per tonne by the end of 2020, at which point many Australian mining companies would shift their focus to copper mining. Analysts stated that due to urbanization, China currently consumes 40% of the world's copper, and demand continues to grow, exceeding expectations. This indicates a shortage of copper inventories in the Chinese market and the end of cost deflation. Meanwhile, the post-Trump election, US-centric reflation will also drive copper prices upward.
